Heejun Han, a Korean pianist, has distinguished herself both on stage and in the field of teaching, acclaimed for performances that combine expressive depth with intellectual clarity. Since making her debut through the Kumho Prodigy Concert Series, she has developed a flourishing international career while also nurturing the next generation of musicians through her faculty appointments at leading institutions.

Her artistry has taken her to some of the world’s most prestigious stages. She has appeared at the Brucknerhaus Linz in Austria, the Salzburg Dialogue Festival, the Szeged Gellért Festival in Hungary, and the Mozart Matineen Festival in Salzburg, followed by recital tours in Chile at the Teatro Municipal de Viña del Mar and the Lo Matta Cultural Center, as well as performances across Germany, Spain, Austria, and Hungary. In her home country, she has performed at the Seoul Arts Center, Kumho Art Hall, and other major venues, and has collaborated with ensembles including the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, Gwangmyeong Symphony Orchestra, and Italy’s Cervo Chamber Orchestra.

Han is also a laureate of numerous competitions. She has been awarded top prizes at Korea’s most prominent competitions such as the Dong-A and Ewha-Kyung Hyang Competitions, and internationally at competitions including Hilton Head (USA), Lyon (France), Val Tidone (Italy), Marbella (Spain), and Troisdorf (Germany). These honors, together with scholarships from the DAAD and the Siemens Foundation, testify to the breadth of her artistic recognition.

Her musical journey has been shaped by distinguished mentorship. After graduating with honors from Seoul National University, where she received the Prof. Oh Jung-Joo Scholarship as the top piano student, she was invited by the world-renowned French pianist Jacques Rouvier to continue her studies in Europe. At the University Mozarteum Salzburg, she worked with Rouvier and earned both her Master’s and Postgraduate Diplomas with highest distinction. She then pursued further advanced diplomas — at the University of Münster under the guidance of Arnulf von Arnim, in Detmold receiving instruction from Alfredo Perl, and in Leipzig under the mentorship of Gerald Fauth — all of which she completed with excellent results. These encounters with some of Europe’s most eminent pianists profoundly shaped her artistic voice.

Today, Han balances an active performing career with a deep commitment to education. She serves on the faculties of Seoul National University, Hanyang University, Chugye University for the Arts, Gachon University, Yewon School, Seoul Arts High School, and the Seoul National University of Education Gifted Education Center (Prodigy Academy), and is regularly invited to give masterclasses and participate in international academies and festivals. As a member of Ensemble Lodeur, she also pursues her passion for chamber music, curating programs that highlight dialogue and collaboration.

Through her multifaceted career, Heejun Han continues to shape a distinctive artistic voice—bridging cultures, traditions, and generations with performances that resonate far beyond the concert hall.
